Government Confident Economy Will Grow 5.6% by Year-End
27 Nov 2025
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto expressed confidence that economic growth in the final quarter of the year will be the highest recorded in 2025. According to Airlangga, the government aims to drive at least IDR 85 trillion in money circulation next month.
Airlangga noted three programs contributing to this target: the IDR 30 trillion Direct Cash Assistance for Public Welfare, a minimum of IDR 30 trillion in spending through nationwide discount programs, and approximately IDR 25 trillion in disbursement of People’s Business Credit (KUR).
In addition, Airlangga stated that government spending is expected to surge next month so that the average absorption rate across ministries reaches 90% this year.
“Therefore, we expect a significant contribution from increased government spending and a rise in public mobility during this year-end period, especially throughout the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holiday season. We are optimistic that economic growth in the final quarter of this year will reach between 5.4% and 5.6%,” Airlangga said at his office on Wednesday, November 26.
The Minister of Trade said three national shopping discount programs will take place next month: the National Online Shopping Day, the Belanja di Indonesia Aja (BINA) program, and the Every Purchase Is Cheap (EPIC) program. In general, these initiatives will offer discounts of up to 80% and will run throughout December.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa projected that international tourist arrivals next year will reach 1.3 million, while domestic tourist movements are expected to surpass 100 million trips.
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded average monthly foreign tourist arrivals of around 1.03 million between January and October 2025, while domestic tourist movements reached approximately 75.79 million trips. Ni Luh expects tourist activity in December to reach the highest level of the year.
She said this increase will be supported by transportation ticket discounts scheduled for next month.
Ni Luh also noted that tourist mobility will be driven by 244 events—including festivals, concerts, and exhibitions—scheduled throughout December 2025. Four major events next month are targeting a combined attendance of more than 1 million visitors: the Djakarta Warehouse Project in Bali, Jogjarockarta Festival, Minangkabau Festival, and BigBang Festival.
“We are also preparing 65 tour packages for both priority and non-priority destinations. At the moment, we are still holding a Travel Fair for travel periods from December 2025 to January 2026,” she said.
