Jakarta is presenting a portfolio of 37 urban development projects with a potential investment value of USD 7 billion to international investors and city partners at the Urban 20 (U20) Mayoral Summit in New York. 

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo highlighted the city's economic performance during the U20 Mayoral Plenary, held at Civic Hall in New York as part of the summit running from 19 to 21 September 2026. The event brings together mayors and governors from major cities to discuss urban development and cooperation. 

According to ANTARA English, Jakarta's economy grew by 5.52% in the second quarter of 2026, while inflation stood at 2.5%. Pramono said the city's economic stability had helped attract USD 10.5 billion in investment during the first six months of the year. 

“Amid the world's various economic challenges, Jakarta continues to record strong economic growth,” Pramono said, as quoted by ANTARA English. He added that the city's economic stability had supported investment inflows. 

The governor used the New York forum to introduce a broader pipeline of investment opportunities. The 37 projects span several sectors, including housing and hospitality, commercial and mixed-use developments, transit-oriented development, sports and recreation, industry and logistics, utilities, transportation and waterfront projects. 

As reported by The Jakarta Globe, the projects form part of Jakarta's effort to present investment opportunities directly to global business and city partners. The portfolio is valued at approximately USD 7 billion in potential investment. 

“Jakarta is ready to open investment opportunities through 37 urban development projects with a potential investment value of USD 7 billion,” Pramono said. “We invite city partners, the business community, and global partners not only to invest in Jakarta but also to work together to build our city's future.” 

Tempo English also reported on Jakarta's investment pitch at the U20 summit, highlighting the city's economic performance alongside its efforts to strengthen cooperation with international municipal and business partners. 

The U20 summit is being hosted in New York by Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani. According to ANTARA English, the 2026 summit focuses on three major themes: affordable housing and homelessness; climate action, sustainability and urban resilience; and the protection of immigrant communities and human mobility. 

For Jakarta, the forum provides an international platform to promote urban investment opportunities while engaging with other major cities on shared development challenges. The city is presenting its investment portfolio alongside economic indicators that Pramono said demonstrate continued growth and stability despite broader global economic challenges. 

The U20 Mayoral Summit is scheduled to conclude on 21 September 2026, with participating city leaders expected to produce joint policy recommendations on sustainable urban development.
