Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, have agreed to establish a special team to analyze barriers to investments in Indonesia.

"As the global economy continues to evolve, we have agreed to form a special review team that will evaluate various regulations potentially hindering investment in Indonesia," Luhut stated in Jakarta on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Luhut added that he and Airlangga recognize the existence of certain regulations that are seen as obstacles to investment. Therefore, they plan to propose to President Prabowo Subianto the removal of these restrictive regulations.

"This team will start working for a week, starting tomorrow. That way, we can improve the economy," Luhut remarked.

The formation of this special team is expected to create a more conducive investment climate, making Indonesia more attractive to both domestic and international investors.

This decision resulted from a meeting between DEN and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, which aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions to ensure that their economic policies remain aligned, coordinated, and well-integrated.

During the meeting, Luhut and Airlangga discussed several strategic issues of mutual concern, including the ambitious goal of achieving 8% economic growth.

"This is not an easy target, but I am confident that with the right strategy, through labor-intensive industrial revitalization, accelerated investment, and strengthening public digital infrastructure,we can achieve President Prabowo’s grand vision," Luhut stated.

He emphasized that strong coordination between DEN, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and all relevant ministries and agencies will lead to more effective economic policies, ultimately benefiting the broader Indonesian population.
