President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Suahasil Nazara as the Minister of Finance, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. The inauguration was held at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, 14 September. 

Suahasil's appointment as Minister of Finance is stipulated in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 97P of 2026. The inauguration commenced with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the reading of the presidential decree regarding the appointment. The procession then continued with the administration of the oath of office. 

"That I will be faithful to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will execute all laws and regulations as strictly as possible in my devotion to the nation and the state," Suahasil's oath of office read. 

Suahasil arrived at the Palace wearing a black suit to meet with the President. Speaking to media personnel, he admitted to receiving a phone call from the Palace, though he did not elaborate on the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle. 

"I was called," Suahasil said at the Palace in Jakarta on Monday, 14 September. 

Suahasil had served as the Deputy Minister of Finance since 2019. He was previously the Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) at the Ministry of Finance. The inauguration was attended by Coordinating Minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.
