Prabowo to Sign Indonesia – US Reciprocal Tariff Agreement Next Week
12 Feb 2026
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to undertake a bilateral visit to the United States on February 19. One of the key agenda items is the planned signing of a reciprocal trade tariff agreement, referred to as the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariff (ART).
The information was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto following a closed-door meeting with President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on February 11.
Airlangga said the president would update Indonesia’s ongoing negotiations with the United States. “The President is scheduled to attend an event on February 19, and around that date there are plans for the signing of the ART,” Airlangga stated.
Similar information was previously delivered by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. He said President Prabowo had received an invitation to attend a meeting of member states of the Board of Peace (BoP) in Washington, D.C., on February 19.
Prasetyo added that the president’s visit to the United States could also provide an opportunity for him to attend the signing ceremony of the Indonesia–United States reciprocal tariff agreement.
“We hope both agendas can take place,” Prasetyo said at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on February 9.
The Gerindra Party politician said the government is targeting the ratification of the bilateral trade agreement in the second week of February.
