Prabowo Inaugurates IDR 25 Trillion Worth of Renewable Energy Plant Projects in 15 Provinces

President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated renewable energy power plants across 15 provinces simultaneously. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, announced that the total investment for the development and operation of these renewable energy power plants amounts to IDR 25 trillion.
According to Bahlil, these projects have a combined capacity of 379.7 megawatts and will be developed in three stages. The projects inaugurated in this phase have a total capacity of 120 MW, including 34.9 MW at the current location.
This ceremony was held at the Blawan Ijen Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Unit 1 in Bondowoso, East Java. The Blawan Ijen Unit 1 project is a collaboration with PT Medco Cahaya Geothermal. This particular plant will add 45 MW and 25 MW during the second and third phases of construction, respectively.
Among the geothermal power plants (PLTP) inaugurated today are the Sorik Marapi Unit 5 in Mandailing Natal, North Sumatra, with a capacity of 41.25 MW owned by PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power; the Salak Binary plant in West Java operated by Star Energy Geothermal Salak with a capacity of 16.15 MW; and the Blawan Ijen Unit 1 plant with a capacity of 34.5 MW, owned by PT Medco Cahaya Geothermal in Bondowoso, East Java. Also inaugurated was the Muara Laboh Unit 2 plant in South Solok Regency, South Sumatra, with a capacity of 80 MW operated by PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh.
Additionally, the Ulubelu Extension Gunung Tiga, managed by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy in Lampung, has a capacity of 55 MW. Other plants include Salak Unit 7 with a capacity of 40 MW, Wayang Windu Unit 3 with 30 MW, and Patuha Unit 2 in West Java with a capacity of 55 MW, owned by PT Geo Dipa Energi.
On the same occasion, Prabowo also inaugurated the operation of 47 solar power plants (PLTS) via a video teleconference from Bali. These solar plants are spread across 11 provinces with a total capacity of 27.8 MW. In Bali, one PLTS with a total capacity of 25 MW was inaugurated, with an investment of IDR 319 billion. East Java saw the inauguration of seven PLTS facilities with a combined capacity of 0.52 MW and an investment of IDR 29.2 billion. In East Nusa Tenggara, 11 PLTS units with a total capacity of 0.69 MW were developed at a cost of IDR 14.43 billion. West Kalimantan received two PLTS units with a total capacity of 0.14 MW and an investment of IDR 12.88 billion. East Kalimantan inaugurated five units totaling 0.12 MW with an investment of IDR 1.81 billion. In North Kalimantan, two PLTS facilities with a combined capacity of 0.08 MW were developed with an investment of IDR 7.02 billion.
North Sulawesi has three PLTS units with a total capacity of 0.54 MW and an investment of IDR 24.15 billion. Maluku received two units with a total capacity of 0.1 MW, requiring an investment of IDR 9.2 billion. In North Maluku, 21 PLTS units were developed with a combined capacity of 0.05 MW and an investment of IDR 4.6 billion. Papua saw five units built with a total capacity of 0.26 MW and an investment of IDR 14.51 billion, while West Papua received eight PLTS units with a combined capacity of 0.29 MW and a total investment of IDR 11.88 billion.
